Urubamba today

Urubamba is a musical project created by Jorge Milchberg, director of Los Incas. After a successful collaboration with Paul Simon in the 1970s, Jorge reestablished Urubamba in Argentina in 1980 with the best local musicians of the time (Jorge Cumbo, Lucho Gonzalez, Pablo Trosman…). Uniting the entire South American continent through its repertoire, Urubamba pioneered a distinctive approach to Andean folklore, respecting its roots with subtle harmonic contributions, a poetic and philosophical vision, and a constant pursuit of balance between academic rigor and personal expression. They achieved unprecedented success with Argentine audiences during triumphant tours that left a lasting impact, inspiring many musicians and groups to this day.
Today, the group is reborn with enthusiasm to continue on the path they have paved, composed of both former and new members.
